Welcome to the Carbon Valley Recreation District

Carbon Valley Recreation District, formed in 1983, is a special district covering roughly 45 square miles, including the communities of Frederick, Firestone, Dacono and rural areas that surround the Tri-Towns. A seven-person Board of Directors, elected from seven wards within the District boundaries, governs the district.

The Recreation Center, is located at 701 5th Street in Frederick (within close proximity to both Frederick Elementary and Senior High Schools). The original facility was 11,300 square feet but was expanded to 50,00 square feet and opened on March 1, 2004. The district was able to expand again by opening new Gymnastics and Senior Centers located at 6615 Frederick Way. This is directly across the street from the main building. The district currently utilizes four ball fields for its youth baseball, youth softball and adult softball programs. Fields are located in Frederick, Firestone, Dacono and Frederick High School.

Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Packets
Board meeting packets available for viewing. Must be viewed and checked out with the front desk staff. When finished with viewing, the packet must be checked back in to the front desk staff.

Public records shall be viewed at the office of the Executive Director, 701 5th Street, on regular business days at prearranged times. After viewing the document(s), photocopies may be requested for a reasonable fee of $0.25 per standard page, or the actual cost of providing a copy, printout, or photograph of a public record in a format other than a standard page, as provided by law. Photocopies must be paid for at the time the request is made and can be picked up in person at an agreed time. If further information is needed and the District lawyer is involved (per Resolution 2011-2) then there could be an additional charge.

If the records are available pursuant C.R.S. 24-72-201 et seq., the records shall be made available for viewing within three working days. If extenuating circumstances exist so that the Executive Director cannot reasonably gather the records within the three-day period, the period shall be extended to seven working days. The Requestor shall be notified of the extension within the three-day period.
